Stories from Her Lens
Welcome to HerSide Magazine which, let’s be honest, is more of a digital living room right now than a glossy publication (but give us three months, because we’re dropping digital issues every quarter — covers and all).
I created HerSide Magazine because I was tired of not seeing us. Women like me who grew up navigating multiple cultures, switching languages mid-sentence, blending traditions, and reshaping what it means to belong. It’s exhausting being everyone to everyone and nowhere fully at once, right?
I’d spent years toggling between group chats, work calls, and the “I love your accent, where are you from?” moments and realized there wasn’t a space that felt made for us. The ones who live in the hyphens. The ones who are both this andthat. So, I made one.
This is a mirror..
For the woman who’s doing it all, between time zones.
For the daughter of diaspora who’s tired of fitting in when she was clearly meant to stand out.
For the ones who are done explaining themselves and just want to tell their story on their own terms.
Whether you’re a newcomer to Canada, a Black woman redefining leadership, a Muslim woman building a brand, or simply someone with something to say there is space for you here.
We’re covering it all:
Interviews with the movers, shakers, and quietly brilliant women you haven’t heard of yet
Motherhood, in all its chaotic beauty
Beauty + lifestyle stories that actually get our skin tone and cultural context
World news with more nuance and less noise
Events happening around town (and around the globe because we travel)
Press releases we actually care about
And every three months, we’ll pull it all together into a digital issue with a full-on cover feature, styled shoots, deep reads, and stories you’ll want to forward to your group chat. Think of it as a vibe check, but make it editorial.
HerSide is your corner of the internet, a home for stories that don’t always make the headlines, but live in our everyday lives.
Thank you for being here.
Thank you for reading.
And when you’re ready, thank you for sharing your side.
